Join Lifetime Arts and guest expert, Larry Weinberg, Co-Founder of the Rumriver Art Center, for a practical conversation designed for individual teaching artists and organizations looking to fund, grow, or sustain their creative aging work. We’ll explore where to find funding, how to connect creative aging programs to funder priorities, and ways to make a compelling case for support. We’ll pay special attention to health-focused funding, and how outcomes like stronger social connection, reduced isolation, and improved mental and emotional well-being can open new doors for creative aging.
You’ll leave with practical strategies to navigate New York’s funding landscape, uncover new opportunities, and confidently communicate the value of your work.

Meet Our Speaker
Larry Weinberg
Co-Founder of Rumriver Art Center
Larry Weinberg is a lifelong artist with BFA from University Minnesota. Weinberg grew the non-profit Rumriver Art Center from one class in 2009 to a major art center with $500,000 in revenue. The founding concept was the process over the product, focusing on the art making process. Weinberg used a combination of grants and community support for growth. He has served on several grant panels, trained teaching artists and consulted for organizations. Weinberg stepped down as Executive Director in 2024 and is still serving as grant panelist, teaching artist and actively has his paintings in gallery shows.
