Lifetime Arts to Deliver, “Creative Aging During COVID” for Mid-Atlantic Region Teaching Artists

On August 25, Lifetime Arts’ Education Associate, Julie Kline, will deliver the interactive virtual session, “Creative Aging During COVID,” part of National Assembly of State Arts Agencies' (NASAA) 2020 Mid-Atlantic Teaching Artists Virtual Retreat.

On August 25, Lifetime Arts’ Education Associate, Julie Kline, will deliver the interactive virtual session, “Creative Aging During COVID,” part of National Assembly of State Arts Agencies’ (NASAA) 2020 Mid-Atlantic Teaching Artists Virtual Retreat. This retreat will take place via online video conferences over a period of four weeks, from August 10 through September 2, 2020.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop session is being offered to teaching artists across the Mid-Atlantic region who want to learn more about adapting the creative aging arts education curriculum model for remote delivery and applying it to their own virtual creative aging programming.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review best practices in Creative Aging program design
  • Be introduced to tips and adaptations for remote delivery programs, and be introduced to current programs that are maintaining these best practices during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Learn ways to address some of the tech accessibility challenges that older adults face with online learning
  • Discuss online class facilitation techniques and modifications that are related to creative aging goals and best practices

The 2020 Mid-Atlantic Teaching Artists Virtual Retreat is a cosponsored project of the Delaware Division of the Arts, Maryland State Arts Council, New Jersey State Council on the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Virginia Commission for the Arts, and West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies.
