Lifetime Arts seeks an experienced, relationship-centered professional to lead the delivery of our coaching, consulting, and networking services. Reporting to the Director of Program Strategy, the Capacity Building Manager partners with organizations, agencies, and practitioners to strengthen their capacity to develop, implement, and sustain impactful creative aging programs that engage diverse older adult communities.

The Manager oversees a portfolio of approximately 10–12 concurrent capacity-building projects, assessing client needs, developing tailored engagement plans, and coordinating the people, resources, and timelines needed for successful implementation. Engagements may include:

  • Creative aging curriculum and program development coaching
  • Evaluation and sustainability consulting and technical assistance
  • Peer learning, facilitated networking, and seed grant support

The Manager also leads The Creative Aging Collaborative (Co-Lab), Lifetime Arts’ national virtual peer-learning network. These services support leaders, staff, and practitioners across community-based organizations, public agencies, cultural institutions, healthcare organizations, libraries, educational institutions, and other mission-driven organizations serving older adults. While the Director of Program Strategy designs Lifetime Arts’ coaching and consulting frameworks, the Capacity Building Manager ensures clients receive coordinated, high-quality support throughout each engagement.

The Manager also oversees the systems and processes that support capacity-building service delivery, including assigning and supporting coaches, consultants, and subject matter experts from Lifetime Arts and our national partner network. Although the Manager may occasionally coach or facilitate, the primary focus is coordinating expertise and resources to help clients achieve their goals.

Successful candidates bring experience in creative aging or working with older adults, along with strong relationship management and project coordination skills. They excel at managing multiple priorities, building trusted partnerships, and delivering an exceptional client experience.

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager and project lead for coaching and consulting engagements.
  • Assess organizational needs and develop tailored service plans that support successful implementation and long-term sustainability.
  • Match clients with coaches, consultants, and subject matter experts from the Lifetime Arts roster whose expertise aligns with their needs and goals.
  • Guide organizations and practitioners from training through implementation, helping them build sustainable creative aging programs that meet community needs.
  • Support organizations in using evaluation tools and data to strengthen program quality and demonstrate outcomes.
  • Manage technical assistance for seed grant initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress and participant engagement, making adjustments as needed.
  • Serve as a coach, consultant, or facilitator for select engagements when appropriate.
  • Recruit, cultivate, and support a diverse roster of coaches, consultants, and subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate on proposals and contracts by developing scopes of work, staffing plans, and implementation strategies.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, communications, and consultant assignments across multiple engagements.
  • Maintain systems and workflows that support service delivery.
  • Foster quality assurance, continuous improvement, and professional learning among coaches and consultants.
  • Lead peer-learning and networking activities associated with grants, contracts, and organizational initiatives.
  • Manage the Creative Aging Collaborative (Co-Lab), including approximately six virtual peer-learning events each year and an online resource hub with current field updates, resources, and opportunities.
  • Manage project plans, timelines, assignments, and tracking systems to ensure timely, high-quality delivery across multiple initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting across all initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Training Manager and External Affairs staff to ensure a seamless participant experience and alignment across programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or administering creative aging, arts learning, healthy aging, lifelong learning, community engagement, or related programs serving older adults in any sector.
  • Experience managing client relationships, partnerships, and project-based staff or consultants.
  • Experience supporting organizations with program development, evaluation, organizational change, or strategic planning.
  • Strong project management skills, including coordinating complex schedules and using project management, CRM, scheduling, or collaboration platforms (such as Asana, HubSpot, Airtable, Calendly, or similar tools).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative remote environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive, community-centered practices.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.

Note: This is a fully remote position; however, it requires occasional travel for in-person meetings, events, conferences, and staff retreats. Candidates must be willing and able to travel by air.

  • Experience delivering or coordinating coaching, consulting, technical assistance, or other capacity-building initiatives.
  • Experience building communities of practice and facilitating virtual professional learning events.
  • Experience using SurveyMonkey or similar program evaluation and reporting tools.
  • Experience presenting at conferences or other professional events.
