Lifetime Arts has been fortunate to partner with author and activist, Ashton Applewhite, as we build the capacity of organizations around the country to deliver arts instruction for older adults that is free of bias and ageism.
Recently, Ashton was interviewed by KCRW‘s Jonathan Bastian ahead of her appearance at UC Santa Barbara last week where she led a town hall meeting titled, “Aging: The Process that Unites Us All“. Benjamin Gottlieb introduced the piece produced in partnership with NPR’s All Things Considered.
On Thursday, June 21, 2018, Ashton will be the recipient of the 2018 Lifetime Arts Game Changer Award which will be presented to her by New York Times reporter and author of Happiness is a Choice You Make: Lessons from a Year Among the Oldest Old, John Leland.
Join us in honoring Ashton, along with our 2018 Visionary Leadership Award winner, Ellen A. Michelson, of Aroha Philanthropies, as we celebrate Lifetime Arts’ 10th Anniversary. Visit our Gala page for complete details and to purchase tickets and sponsorship.
